Welcome to the new and improved web site for Wide Horizon Hospice in the Vaal Triangle
What is Hospice
Wide Horizon Hospice was established in 1985 by Edna Davies in her garden cottage. From these humble beginnings
Wide Horizon has grown to the facility that we see today, a modern well equipped In Patient Unit and efficient home care
service. In 1998 Karuna HIV/Aids Clinic was initiated to address the needs of those infected and affected by this disease.
The clinic has a well structured support group and is able to give food and support those in need. Trained counselors are
employed at the clinic who also carry out home based care. The clinic is supported solely by fund raising activities, gifts
and donations from the community.

Hospice Palliative Care is rooted in the belief that dying is a lot more than just a medical event.
The patient's plan of care therefore includes careful attention to the
emotional and spiritual needs of the patient and his or her family members.
Karuna Clinic is a Hospice Clinic that practices VCT (Voluntary Counseling & testing) for HIV.
Knowing your status is as important as knowing your shoe size.
